Dan Dobratz, Executive Director
Dan is a 47-year veteran of the polyurethane foam industry. As executive director, his mission is to provide value for participating companies and to earn the trust of consumers by ensuring the requirements for certification remain relevant and rigorous. An avid runner and skier, Dan enjoys cheering for the Phillies, Eagles, and Steelers.
Maura Dolan, Compliance Manager
Maura is the primary contact for all the bedding and upholstered furniture manufacturers that buy certified foam or products containing certified foam. She is responsible for onboarding new companies, maintaining supply chain records and assisting companies when they renew their annual registration. After raising six children, Maura now enjoys her grandchildren and getting a good night’s sleep.
Ami Neiberger, Communications Director
Ami contributes to strategic communications, brand management, media relations, audience outreach, trade show and exhibits and much more for the CertiPUR-US program. She organizes special projects and works on publications and materials. In 2025, she became chief contributor to the Home Sweet Foam Blog. When not working on her 100+ year old house or driving her daughter to cheerleading practice, she enjoys cuddling with her dog on a couch containing certified foam and watching Florida Gator football.
Bethany Nguyen, Website Administrator
Bethany has been responsible for creating foam producer’s individual webpages, updating certificates, and adding or revising directory listings of all CertiPUR-US participating companies and brands since 2011. As a mother of six, she can get anything done well and fast. She is an avid reader and a proud member of Steeler nation. Of course, she watches football games on a sofa containing certified foam.
Nick Ordsmith, Technical Consultant
In the CertiPUR-US program’s early days, Nick worked at one of the first accredited laboratories that was approved for doing emissions testing and content analysis on foam samples. He is now an independent consultant serving as a resource to the CertiPUR-US Technical Advisory Group and liaison with the currently approved laboratories. Based in the UK, Nick enjoys a long lie in on his bed yet is still available for early morning discussions with his U.S. colleagues.
Laura Papageorge, Data Manager
Laura is a self-proclaimed data geek, managing the CertiPUR-US program quality management software program and troubleshooting technical issues that arise. She has decades of experience with data analytics and project management with Fortune 500 companies. Laura enjoys tennis, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family – including her 14-year-old rescue dog, Lola.
Donna Peroni, Foam Producer Coordinator
Donna works closely with participating foam producers to ensure the certification process runs efficiently and seamlessly. She has decades of experience with management systems across a multitude of industries in both the private and public sectors. When not working or lounging on her sofa containing certified foam (of course!) she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and the special children in her life.
Arshawn Teymoorian, Legal Counsel
Arshawn Teymoorian is legal counsel for the CertiPUR-US program. His role is to ensure that we accurately describe the benefits of certified foam and adhere to the FTC Green Guides. Among his specialties are government relations and trade association law. He is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School. In his spare time, he enjoys playing strategic board games and reading economic biographies.
Lydia Wenglar, Assistant to the Executive Director
Lydia has been on the CertiPUR-US team since the program began. She works with prospective and participating foam producers from around the world at every stage of their certification journey: from the first vetting questions and initial application process to ongoing foam family renewals and verification audits. She enjoys crafting, singing while driving, and movies, movies, movies!
Team Support
Jill Kurtz, Kurtz Digital Strategy LLC
Jill is the CertiPUR-US program’s social media expert. She monitors and measures social media engagement on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. Jill creates content that helps consumers sleep better, live better, and understand the importance of buying home furnishings containing certified foam. She spends a lot of her free time training and playing games with her dogs.
Claire Liston, C. Liston Communications
Claire has designed and managed the CertiPUR-US website since its earliest years. She and her team have expanded the site through three major redevelopments to provide optimal functionality for industry stakeholders and safety-savvy consumers. Claire loves her memory foam mattress and makes sure her beloved rescue dogs benefit from certified foam-cushioned dog beds for recuperative naps.
Deane Nettles, Nettles Graphic Design
Deane designs advertising and marketing materials for the CertiPUR-US program. He has more than 30 years of experience working for nonprofits, ad agencies, publications and direct marketing firms. He also teaches graphic design at Maryland area colleges and universities. Deane loves relaxing on a good comfy sofa with his wife, a cat named Seri, and an Australian Cattle Dog named Cammie.
Megan Stolz, Megan Stolz Editorial LLC
Megan provides editing and proofreading support for the CertiPUR-US program, ensuring writing is clear, concise and grammatically correct. She has been an editor for over ten years and owned her editorial business since 2018, working primarily with membership-based organizations and higher ed institutions. She is a world traveler, history buff, choral singer, cat owner and mother of three.
